Reminder – Stella Maris College Withdrawal Procedure

We kindly remind parents that it is a condition of enrolment that one full term’s written notice is required if a student is to be withdrawn. For students departing at the end of Term 4 (1 December 2026), notice must be provided by the end of Term 3 (25 September 2026).

To submit a withdrawal notice, please email the Registrar at registrar@stellamaris.nsw.edu.au, including your daughter’s withdrawal date, intended destination, and the reason for withdrawal. If one term’s notice is not provided, parents will be charged a term's fee in lieu of notice and will be payable prior to your daughter’s departure.

Geography News

Year 8 Geography: Exploring Liveability in Manly

Our Year 8 Geography students have been making the most of our incredible local area by conducting primary fieldwork into the liveability of Manly, NSW.

Students had the opportunity to collect firsthand data on a range of factors that contribute to liveability, including environmental quality, social cohesion and connectedness, safety, intergenerational public spaces, and employment opportunities.

Back in the classroom, students have been analysing their findings, creating graphs, identifying patterns and using their data to help answer their geographical hypothesis.

A huge thank you to our Year 8 students for their enthusiasm, curiosity and engagement throughout this mini-fieldwork experience. Geography is all about understanding and interacting with the world around us, and this experience has been a wonderful demonstration of the Stella values in action within our local community.

Congratulations to our 23 Silver Duke of Edinburgh’s Award students who set off on Monday for four days of outdoor adventure in the beautiful Kangaroo Valley!

Demonstrating incredible initiative, perseverance, and team spirit, the girls will tackle an action-packed itinerary combining canoeing along scenic waterways and hiking through challenging bushland trails. This immersive experience is the culmination of months of preparation, requiring students to apply key Benedictine values—such as stewardship for the environment, community teamwork, and mutual support—as they navigate the wilderness together.

A huge thank you to Mr Malomitis and Mrs Little for accompanying the students. We wish all 23 participants a rewarding, safe, and inspiring four days in Kangaroo Valley!

We also extend our gratitude and warmest farewell to Sanna, our 2026 Duke of Edinburgh Captain. Throughout this year, Sanna has been a truly positive and organised light for the entire program. Her dedicated leadership, proactive spirit, and constant encouragement have inspired and supported so many students on their own Award journeys.

Sanna, thank you for your exceptional effort, leadership, and bright energy. We wish you all the very best in all your future endeavors.

AusMusic T‑Shirt Day

As a Catholic school community committed to compassion, dignity and service, Stella's Mission team is proud to support Support Act, Australia's music industry charity. Support Act provides crisis relief, mental health and wellbeing services to musicians, performers, crew and music workers who often face significant challenges, including insecure employment and poor mental health outcomes. In partnership with the Music Department, the Mission Team is helping raise awareness and funds for this important cause, recognising the power of music to enrich our lives and the importance of caring for those who create it. We hope everyone will support AusMusic T-Shirt Day on Wednesday 25 November - details are below.

Aussie music fans, this one’s for you!

On Wednesday 25 November, we’re turning the school into a mini festival; no mud, no $14 chips, no losing your friends in a crowd of 40,000. Just good vibes, good music, and your best Aussie band tee.

How to join in:

• Wear your favourite Australian band T‑shirt (Powderfinger, INXS, King Stingray, Thelma Plum, Ratcat… yes, Ratcat counts.)
• Or make your own simple DIY transfer tee at school.
• Donate $5 to support Support Act, the charity helping Aussie musicians.

Why we’re doing it:

Because Australian music is iconic, chaotic, emotional, loud, weird, brilliant, and it deserves to be celebrated. And because supporting the people who make it is actually cool.

Bonus: Fig Day Out tie‑in

That night, we’ll keep the festival energy going with Aussie tracks, shout‑outs, and a little nod to the artists who shaped the soundtrack of this country.

HSC Dance Callback Nominations

I am very excited to announce that the HSC Dance Students have received numerous Callback nominations for the practical components of the HSC Dance Course - Core Performance, Core Composition, and Major Study Performance. Between the seven Year 12 HSC Dance students, the girls received a total of 13 Callback nominations - an incredible feat! I am so proud of their hard work and dedication.

CALLBACK is a celebration of the outstanding talent of students who presented their work as part of the 2026 Higher School Certificate (HSC) Dance Practical Examinations. It is a showcase of exemplary dance performances and compositions presented by students from across New South Wales.

Music News

Fig Day Out 2026

Our Semester 2 showcase of live Music, ‘Fig Day Out’ returns on Wednesday 25 November. The festival style evening takes place outside under the fig trees with catering and a bar. Performers will be notified via email to audition which will take place early in Term 4.

NSWCCC Athletics

The NSWCCC Athletics Championships was held at Sydney Olympic Park on Wednesday 16 September. Stella had 15 students representing CGSSSA at this event. The competition was tough, with athletes from all over NSW travelling to compete at this state level event. The results from all members of the Stella team were amazing! All of our students performed at their best, coming away with great performances in cold and windy conditions. Well done to all members of the team: Beatrix B, Leanne B, Frankie B, Anieke C, Phoebe D, Ellie F, Cara F, Ella F, Karina O, Taylor P, Kayla R, Bella R, Pilard S, Lucy T, Elisabeth P.

Well done to Phoebe D who broke the NSWCCC 13 year girls' hurdles record! What an amazing achievement!

Peninsula Cup Soccer

The Stella soccer season has come to an end, with grand finals and play offs of the Peninsula Cup competition taking place this week. All four Stella teams had a great season, showing great effort and improvement each week. Each team had some fantastic matches and results throughout the term. Congratulations to our Year 7 Red team, who won the Year 7 division 2 Grand Final 1-0 against Oxford Falls! Well done to all players on a fantastic season!

Australian All Schools Cross Country

A huge congratulations to Amelia M who represented NSW at the School Sport Australia Cross Country Championships at the Sydney International Equestrian Centre this week. Amelia had a great individual run, to finish 14th in her race (and 4th in Australia in her age group!). She backed this up the following day to help her NSW team win the silver medal in the relay event. This caps off a great cross country season for Amelia, who also recently represented NSW Athletics at the Australian Cross Country Championships in Ballarat. Congratulations Amelia!

All Schools Touch Football

Best of luck to our junior touch football team who will be playing at the All Schools Touch Tournament on the Gold Coast in the holidays. This team has been training hard throughout the term and are ready to take on the best school touch football teams in Australia! Good luck team!

Term 4 Sport Registrations

Registrations for Term 4 sports are now open. Parents and students have all been sent details of the Term 4 sports, with students also being sent the links to express interest. Some of the sports we have on offer next term are:

Got Stella uniforms sitting at home that you haven’t had a chance to sell? Give them a second term at Stella Thrift & Thrive.

You can either donate your unwanted uniforms, uniform items and selected school curriculum items, or re-sell them and receive a credit voucher to use towards pre-loved Stella items at Market Day.

Uniform Shop News

The Uniform Shop is open Tuesdays to Thursdays from 8:00am to 4:30pm during term and can be emailed on uniform_books@stellamaris.nsw.edu.au

New item!

For girls playing extra-curricular sports, there is a new large sports bag available. The cost is $32 and they are available online or in the Uniform Shop.

Junior skirts have been packed away for Summer. Limited long sleeve blouses are still available until the end of term.

Junior and senior dresses are now available online. Year 9 students will need to buy the senior dress before November for Year 10, 2027.
